Classic Game Room reviews TOP GEAR for Super Nintendo from 1992. CGR plays Top Gear the videogame (no relation to the awesome TV show) from Kemco for SNES and races against the evil "computer" and 18 other cars in races around the world on a variety of interesting, well designed race courses. Fans of games like Rad Racer, Outrun and Super Monaco GP should check out this well made, old-school, 16-bit driving game with responsive controls and well balanced gameplay. Top Gear can be easily found for Super Nintendo SNES and has many sequels on various game consoles like N64, Mega Drive and Xbox. This CGR review of Top Gear for SNES has gamaplay from Top Gear the videogame showing video game play of Top Gear on Super Nintendo.

  2. @MojoSmelz they also just released a US version of Top Gear, its great, but the UK version's still better.

  3. @MojoSmelz yes, the US has a branch of BBC that broadcasts here... the show is also available on most digital downlowd stores and a few episodes are avaialble in Gran Turismo 5.

  6. you should drive! and if you win, you should dance! ahah..

  7. I love the original Mario Kart and F-Zero because of the amazing scaling and rotation of the whole track in Mode 7 which allowed the player to see and learn the layout of the track, but racing games like Top Gear and its ilk of "Vanishing Point" tracks are just obsolete relics with no retro replay value whatsoever. There are far better 16-bit racing games out there.

  8. @dashwarts lol all of the americans are probably like "whats a stig? is it a FOOTBALL TEAM!?!?!?!?"

  9. aHahahAhaHAhaHAhaHAhaHAha BEST SECOND PLACE EVER

  10. @xeronixpro I TOTTALY agree with you!!

  11. 'Truxton' LOL!

  12. 1 of the best racing games ever, up there with N64 F-Zero, this is better IMO. Anyone who never played it during their childhood and only sees it or plays it now just won't have the same effect, since expectations are higher.

  13. Beware of the trust fund artists!

  14. Ok, I'm sorry I do appreciate old games, they started it all, it was advanced, immersive and amazing back then, blah blah blah... But this is just crap!

  22. Confirmed: Mark watches Top Gear! You know they're making an American version of TG right? I think it airs next week on the History Channel.

  23. Please review the moon

  24. @Agerasia Patrick Phelan (might be the wrong artist, I might be thinking another Lotus/Top Gear game) reused some of the first Lotus game on Top Gear. Same for Barry Leitch in Lotus II and Top Gear 2, IIRC.

  25. @5:26 Can't tell you how many races I've won that way. This brings back so many memories. I used to have the soundtrack on my Rockbox :D
