Fixing up a neglected 1972 buick Skylark. this is pretty much how i got it except for a lot of cleaning and polishing and the steering wheel and tint. It was done up on the cheap like the death proof car for Hell pizza as a competition prize and I won it. Its my daily driver so it wont ever be show class but my plan is to make it real nice.

the biggest problem with importing other than bad communication is that the Aussie dollar sux balls, after you convert the shipping, insurance and item cost its usually way too much chev 350s and gear are cheap and easily available here, I'm also impatient I want it all done asap lol
i have a 1972 buick skylark check it out 1972 buick skylark w 100 spoke rims your car is in realy good shape it very restoreable keep up the good work you should just get a stock 455 buick there only 1,200 to 1,600 i dont know how much it would be to ship to australia.nice car.....

haha I hear what your saying man I may stay buick power yet just have to check a few things out but seriously here in Brisbane Australia there is no support for buick, mechanics don't even now what a buick is or at least have never worked on one and we have no mom and pop stores at all just a few big chain stores who over charge and have no idea what there doing. As for US supliers I have been Dealing with OPG via email for parts has been fucken hopeless!! but yearone have been great.
buick parts arent really harder to get, just more expensive, any parts department that sells rotating assembly parts for chevy will most likely support buick(any mom and pop parts store has buick parts) but putting a chevy motor in anything BOP is my biggest pet-peeve, its complete sacrilige to the unique-ness of BOP
i beg you to reconsider, but its your car, you wouldnt be the first black sheep with a bowtie plant.
not real sure yet want to do a lil more reserch 454 or 350, it will be a chev motor either way because of parts being easier to get. The 350 buick in it at the moment is pretty tiered and theres no part suport out here for buick.

cheers man just doin the paint and body work at the moment just going to have her lookin sexy for now (should be back from paint soon). Then I will start saving for power side of things
