Great condition for its age!
Great starting point for a restoration!
Best of luck with your project!
P.S. Regarding the rust in the boot (trunk) floor.
The battery was located in the trunk in early Mini's and tended to leak acid, attacking the surrounding metal.
I have seen a Mini here, in the dry southern Ausrtralian climate, completely rust-free except for the area surrounding the battery in the boot (trunk)
@Wearenotreallyhere A trunk lid is a boot lid..
Seriously.. just use some common sense.
it's in such original condition that i would leave it alone as much as is possible. Theres nothing better than an original/unspoiled car with a patina.
BTW, i have a 73 MGB & 61 Austin Healey 3000 which i had to completely rebuild because of body rot.
Good luck.
can u tell me where u got your panels from plz ive got a 1992 mini mayfair and need to get panels if you can help that would be great
looking good...pro here and that is what I would do so far.....
dont need tax for this right ? seeing as it's 1960's edition
It's all about love..but you can't take her to bed..she must stay in the garage..sorry, but those are the rules.
how much did you pay for the shell was it just the shell this guy wants to sell a 1976 mini morris minor runs great a couple body rust spots said he repaired the engine he wants to sell it for 5000 is that a good deal?
Took it for a test drive after the engine was rebuilt, but before any resto started. Took it out again that evening!!
Why put the engine in before the bodywork's done and what's a 'trunk lid' when it's at home ?
Hi john,
I have a 1960 Morris Mini.
I also have a mini cooper, but mine is a 2008 (58) red/ white roof. Not done anything to it so far but thinking of putting photo of michael cain on roof ( get carter/with shotgun) & some driving lamps, 4 me thinks...
I would love this mini (I was born in 1960) fantastic job so far, I hope that you take it to some mini car shows, I'd like to see it up close. Thanx for the vid. HIGH QUALITY
